Spray Membrane

Tunnel waterproofing is no longer solely based on Preformed Polymer Membrane (sheet membrane) when adopting both Cast in situ and the commonly used Permanent Sprayed Concrete Lining system. The use of sprayed waterproof membranes offers a fast, efficient and cost-effective system.

Due to its ability to prevent disadvantages of waterproofing sheet membrane during application, the direct spray-on membrane system is becoming the preferred method on tunneling site or larger application area. TamSeal 800 is a single component polyurea powder that can be spray applied using a dry rotor machine, either manually or with a robotic arm, and mixed with water at the front spray nozzle. BestSeal F-45 is a ready-mixed single-component polymeric resin that can be used directly via a simple spray device or equipment.

Both systems provide a tough, durable, and seamless waterproofing membrane for underground structures such as tunnels, shafts, and caverns. In areas experiencing water leakage, the rib drain membrane will be installed during the excavation stage and then sprayed with polymeric resin membrane before applying the inner lining concrete.
