Face Stabilization

Glass-fiber-reinforced plastic tubes, with their lightweight but high strength characters, have been widely adopted as the support element for the advance auxiliary method in recent years. They are used to stabilize the tunnel's overburden or face during excavation. In contract, the heavier steel pipes’ group creates an additional burden loading on the roof, especially when the geology is very soft. Furthermore, with the special drill system, the GFRP tubes can replace the face-bolting with GRP hollow or solid rods when longer face stabilization is required and also enable using our special designed insert set for the stages’ injection through the GFRP tubes.
